Pros & Cons
Pros
Big, stout, butter smooth. Fit and finish appear to be flawless. Way cheaper than the fancy name ones.
High-quality tools that never fail to impress. Fine-tooth gear mechanism ensures that i can achieve precise torque application.
The heads are surprisingly sealed and do a good job keeping contaminants out of the innards. Has been holding up to daily * of brake changes and drive belt services. Every one explodes and the internals fly everywhere.
The lock up in the head feels solid and engages more with more pressure. The teardrop head of the rachet is twice as big as my snap on 3/8 stubby. Only downfall is the detent for the flex head can be a little weak.
Cons
Ez-red xl 1/4 flex head was visually noticeably bent to one side.
Snap on expensive has the exact driver, but did not want to pay the amount of money for them. The big one is great, but the 1/4 ratchet is a complete piece of * that started sticking almost immediately.
Highlights
Quality
Smooth operation flex handle adds to ease of use in tight locations with plenty of leverage
I love the ease of use, very helpful to have the flex head, and they are well made and have a great warranty
Purchased for non-commercial use and it feels like it will outlast multiple generations.
Don't worry about quality with these gearwrench ratchets.
Price
Rather than spending $$ on the tool truck buy these
I have had multiple snap on ratchets and prefer gearwrench and the price is 1/3
But it's half the price of snap on.
Way cheaper than the fancy name ones but very smooth and comfortable.
Packaging/appearance
Handle arrived yellow instead of red, and the backdrag could be better.
I got one with the yellow handle, not the red as shown on the website picture.
Competitiveness
This performs better and is more durable than expensive brands.
The gearwrenchflex head ratchet has proven to be another fantastic addition to my gearwrench collection.
The only difference between gearwrench and craftsman is the number of turning teeth.
I like it better than the craftsman.
