I replaced the £20 per month council service with one of these for my 90yo aunt after they failed to do anything of practical benefit when she fell leaving her on the floor for 4 hours and also realised the ridiculous cost of their unsatisfactory service

One niggle is that having pushed the emergency button and the phone called you it doesnt clear down the line when you then hang up at the called persons end

This leaves call charges running until you can get to the phone and clear the line at the phone itself
