Cons

Ge dishwasher disposal has a poor design. The entire disposal locks by two little plastic tabs locking into the metal locking ring. The disposal is loud and has excessive vibration.

I'm a fan of general electric, but i think they should have done more r&d on this unit. It is never a good sign when you pickup the box off of the porch and the contents are rattling around loose. It really vibrates a lot when grinding up food.

Less than 12 months after install the unit failed. It is out of warranty. I do not live in the continental us, making warranty returns too costly.

Ge is a brand that has been around for a long time so it’s a good quality and well worth the price.

-the list price is $149 which seems very high, though it's currently available for $54 which is a great deal.

Packaging/appearance

Delivery was swift and packaging and communications were excellent.

Don’t forget to knock out the plastic plug on the disposer otherwise you will have a leak from your dishwasher.
