Pros & Cons
Pros
Used this on my refinished 1920s tiger oak table. Will love it more if it turns out to be durable. After three coats my piece is absolutely beautiful.
I am not sure why it took me this long to discover this product but wow. Really let set to cure. Make sure to mix it well.
This product applies very easily and dries evenly. It is not too smelly. Goes great work gfs gel based stain.
Thin coats and light sanding with 320 grit sponge between coats. Sanded it up to 240 before application.
Cons
Can not be sprayed like polyurethane. Will have to strip it down and refinish. Cloth tends to leave residues, such as lint balls, fibers & hairs in your finish.
Vastly disappointed in this product, even after such raving and high reviews. Take that arm-r-seal, fix your cans or suffer puns.
Highlights
Quality
So easy to use, no fuss, 3 coats over 3 days with no sanding leaving a hard beautiful finish.
It does a great job preventing water rings and is quite durable.
One season of heavy use out of the fireplace and a couple months this year and no change to the finish.
I applied thin coats of this topcoat in the floss finish mixed with mineral spirits and using a 100% cotton rag.
Price
Pricey, but worth it on those special projects.
Shipping
To secure the lid for shipping, an additional 4 spring steel clamps were added.
Packaging/appearance
I was concerned that i might receive sealant that was dried up, but this product was impeccably packaged and arrived in perfect condition!
Looks stunning in our new dinning room.
We sealed our dinning table before it was packed and moved overseas.
Competitiveness
Compared to the stuff you can get at home depot or lowe's, this stuff is totally worth the extra time and money of ordering it online.
The results speak for themselves, i will never buy another brand it goes far for the money too.
I tried several top coats from varathane and miniwax.
Every other poly i have used does not compare to the finish quality that general finishes gives.
