We used 3 coats of paint on the cabinets and also finished it off with the general finishes top coat.

Competitiveness

It is too thick (even if thinned down) to spray with a hvlp, but it lays down beautifully and doesn't show brush strokes.

Seems expensive but good price compared to buying new cabinets.
