Pros

Genki arcade quest has a 4k resolution and hdmi passthrough. Latency is good, but might be an issue if you were using this competively. Works with my 4k at 60hz and the latency is really low as promised and the pass through worked perfectly.

Setting this up in windows 11 is just plug and play. The unit works flawlessly and is plug in play. Setup for this device is a breeze. There's a bit of a learning curve for a total newbie.

Cons

If you planned to use this device for gaming, think again, as the lag really makes it unusable. It also has constant issues such as changing all colors to green or losing audio.

I ordered this because my elgato wasn't working well with my mac even with all the extra plugins and such.

Price

Highly recommend getting this if you considering any time of video capturing of consoles on a budget.

Now although this product is more expensive it's definitely worth the investment.

I paid $80 which is about a third of the price of the el gato 4k x.

That said, its premium price, reliance on external storage and potential heating issues may make you pause.

That being said, this thing looks pretty versatile, comes well packaged, and comes with all the supplies you need to get started.

I previously used the original shadowcast, which was 1080p at 30fps, but this upgraded version offers 1080p at 60fps.

I wanted something that could record 4k60 and vrr and this was by far the least expensive solution.

It is my first device of this type, so i unfortunately have no basis of comparison.
