Black color appears to be painted on, not deeply ingrained. All these cheap belts are pu leather. All flake off and fall apart at the holes in the belt, that's why the cheap price. Perhaps because of the material used in its manufacture.

It appears this listing is quite deceptive. Don't get deceived. Claim is outright lie. Just as other reviewers state.

The outer layer is some fibrous material, covered with paint/lacquer. The inner layer is plastic. There are some types of pu leather called bicast leather that have actual leather but have a polyurethane coating on top.
