The dealer wanted 40 plus shop supplies when all it takes is unclipping a couple tabs and swapping out

To prevent them from inspecting my filters and perhaps trying to sell me something i know i just replaced i put a laminated note on the filter cover that saysfilter last changed and then used a grease pencil to add the date so they would know it was changed 5 days before they did the other service

I like to support my local bricks and mortar businesses but imho it is unfair to charge a lot for a maintenance part that needs frequent replacement

When it comes to cars under warranty and engine specifications spend the extra couple of dollars and avoid a big bad ugly corporation like toyota voiding your warranty
