Once you have the crossbars on the rails you turn the locking mechanism clockwise until it is pretty hard to flip back down into the locking position

Regarding the return an instruction sheet in the box said to call the seller for a return auth number but the polite parts guy said it wasnt necessary and to just use the amazon return process

Ive initiated the return and received a message saying to await for authorization from the seller just a small hindrance but i dont foresee any problems returning it
