Pros & Cons
Pros
This part is the perfect replacement for a door handle that did brake. I usually let the pros at the dealership fix/replace any automotive issue.
This is my third latch in my 2007 sequoia.
The handle is installed and is actually is working as intended. Thankfully people are willing to share their knowledge on youtube. After a few youtube videos, was able to install it myself.
Cons
The problem is that all (oem or aftermarket) have the same flaw. Not the handle but the lever in the back that pulls the cable to open the latch is extremely thin sheet metal.
Highlights
Quality
The part was a perfect fit, easy to install and worked.
High quality product and i definitely would buy again.
After about a month or so of regular use, the cheap handle failed - it didn't break, it simply wore out as the spring/lever por... Read More
My original part lasted over 5 years and every metal handle i installed lasted less than 1 year.
Price
Great price for a genuine toyota product.
As soon as i installed the product it works flawlessly unlike the previous one that i bought for $16.
I bought the cheep alternative for $15, it was hard to install and didn't work properly shortly after installation.
The dealer by me wanted $90 for the same part and this is still sold by toyota so win win.
Shipping
Arrive in time and the product itself worked perfectly.
Of course, when we got to the destination in oregon the latch broke and we had to unload through the sliding doors.
I was concerned that this was not a genuine toyota part since it was not shipped from a dealership.
They sent it out asap and it arrived before the quoted delivery time.
Competitiveness
All that to say, this oem part is actually better than the metal after market units i have purchased for 1/3 of the price of this one.
Would recommend this to anyone trying to avoid going to the toyota dealership to have a new one installed.
Stupid me opted to go cheap and buy a all metal handle that these so called sellers claim thinking it would be better than oem.
Also, consider replacing the latch mechanism as well, especially if it appears rusty or worn - you're already working in the same area.

Original part lasted 22 years and i dont like to do a repair more than once

It was a fairly easy repair if you have the seats removed
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
If not you have to crawl over the back seats because there is no way to open from the outside

If you have the seats still in the van remove the middle row out the side doors reach over one of the back seats and flip the back forward then do the other one
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
You should be able to release the seat latches then
