Pros & Cons
Cons
This review is for the smaller none locking defender. Lasted 2 weeks, and is now stuck. Locked up on me within 20 minutes of ownership.
The cord/spooling mechanism hangs up often and does not retract. It barely fits over my simms wader belt. The retraction is very weak and barley pulls the gerber nipper in.
Highlights
Quality
This is a well made lanyard the should last for years.
The line is excellent and the retract works exceptionally well.
Simply unscrew pin, push though material like a lapel pin attaches and screw in pin to make a secured attachment!
I’ve bent it so many times it has finally broke.
Price
Totally worth the price, considering that you won't be replacing it anytime soon.
It is expensive for this purpose, if it lasts a year or two it is worth it.
I will keep it, but a little $ for what it actually does.
Competitiveness
Theyre way above the million other junky retractors on the market.
Surprised orvis does not make or sell one as good as gerber, but they don’t.
