Pros & Cons
Pros
It keeps a good edge and is easy to sharpen. I get them all professionally sharpened to a terrifyingly sharp edge. The blade shape works well and mine came with a decent grind.
The locking function is awesome, and the blade construction is pretty flawless. Spring assist and blade lock are also convenient. One handed closing isn't difficult like many other assisted knives due to the placement of the lock.
The deep carry pocket clip is excellent since it's recessed and uses recessed screws as well. I always have one on me clipped to my pocket for a convenient draw without searching. It's always in my purse and i always travel with it.
Cons
The blade is the first knife i've received that wasn't sharp. Edge retention is terrible, not sure if the 'high-carbon' stainless claimed above is the same or not as i originally purchased this. The knife is definitely not worth the price.
The locking mechanism is a joke. It does not function smoothly at all despite lubrication. It's so stiff it doesn't even work.
The safety lock inadvertently locks so when you pull the knife out you have to fumble with it to get it open. After 4 weeks the blade is loose with significant wobble from side to side.
Highlights
Quality
Well made and fits my hand well.
This is a solid assisted opening knife that takes and keeps an edge well, is easy to open and close one handed.
The bad side is all have had the same problem, the retention spring to hold it up in your pocket breaks easily.
It finally gave out (the blade/handle connection wouldn't stay tight) about 6 months ago.
Price
Still an excellent item for the price.
I've owned (and still own) a lot of nice pocket knives in my time (benchmade, sog, crkt, etc), but this inexpensive one has bee... Read More
The first time i bought these they were under $20, now they are $35.
I bought one of these years ago when they were 20 bucks.
Competitiveness
I had a hell of a time finding anything like it, despite gerber being a decently well known brand.
