Pros & Cons
Pros
The thumb slot takes some getting used to, i’m used to knives with a thumb stud so that’s easily explained. The handie is comfortable and fairly easy to get leverage on. The natural grip keeps your hands clear for a clean swipe across a whet stone.
Because of the sturdiness and size, it is a good backup. One is a backup just in case i misplace my usual one.
A bit more expensive than normal, typical, but very good quality and often discounted. It hold up very well and is very durable for its price point. Ganzo knives are cheaper with a little better quality so if i buy another cheap knife it'll be another... Read More
Beefy, fun flipper. Months of general use and skinning a whole hog. Father has a benchmade and also skinned a hog of similar size.
Cons
This is arguably the worst of the 50 or so folding knives i've bought in the last 5 years or so. It's just not a comfortable, intuitive to use knife. The form is just dreadful -- it feels unnecessarily bulky and just makes no sense in the human hand. ... Read More
This one is an old school sluggish frame lock where it doesn't open very nicely. The liner lock is incredibly sticky, though it seems to maybe be poorly machined, so possibly a defect.
There’s not enough curve at the end of the clip to allow it to roll over the edge of the material, and trying to pry it up with my fingernail was futile. It's the stubbiest, dumbest clip in my collection, and it's not movable.
Grind is noticeably uneven and was supposed to be hollow grind and the knife i received has more or a chisel grind. The blade steel is obviously questionable and stamped out.
The blade is a challenge to deploy, forget about using 1 hand opening. The flipper action is very stiff and i could not get it to successfully deploy even once. When you do get the blade deployed there is a little play to it and even stiffer when you ... Read More
Highlights
Quality
It’s very sturdy, relatively sharp, not razor sharp, but sharp enough.
Very heavy and sturdy is good qualities for a knife.
The blade is so sharp and so durable, that the only way it makes sense is if gerber made a time machine and went back to get on... Read More
Blade is ground down to thin and sharp blade.
Price
Overall happy with a lightweight and reasonably priced knife!
He went to reach in his pocket for his money and sliced his finger open.
Overall i think it’s a really good knife for the price.
Thank you, amazon it’s a heavy duty chopper for a good price
Packaging/appearance
I cut open a lot of packaging at my job, and this does everything i need a knife to do.
Came in handy while cutting a steak on a hunting trip, as well as whenever a pocket knife is needed.
Pictured center next to a gerber zilch (l) and a gerber asada (r).
The zip ties that hold it to the packaging were cut so the knife was flopping all around the box causing scratches before even being used
Competitiveness
I have over 30 pocket knives, ranging from crkt, kershaw, sog, james brand, spyderco, wesn goods, gerbers, and even some chinabrand bs.
