Pros & Cons
Pros
Small, lightweight and sharp. For it's size it feels very sturdy and the blade came razor sharp out of the package, sharp enough to shave with.
I always believe a man should carry a small, sharp pocketknife just in case. I wear a large glove typically but this knife isn't too small to grip. Btw, my typical daily dress is office casual.
This knife replaces the one stolen by tsa. Handy for small jobs like opening mail or packages. Keep one in your pocket to open cartons, envelopes, etc.
The handle and lock system are solid and feel sturdy. Easy to open and close makes one handed operation a breeze. It fits on my keychain, is a bit big but worth it.
Cons
The opened blade has 1-5/8 of sharp edge.
Highlights
Quality
These are a fantastic quality little knife.
It turns out gerber has discontinued the stl and replaced it with the stl 2.
The new ones are of a much better quality metal and they come very sharp.
Shipping
I use them at work for opening and flattening shipping boxes.
Packaging/appearance
Tiny little knife that disappears in the pocket.
A little sharpening doesn't hurt, but it can do everything i need it to out of the box.
Competitiveness
It’s a gerber knives classic design that’s been around for many years.
A simple pocket knive made in usa .
This knife has a very nice hole on the end of it that you could very easily run a piece of paracord through.
