Pros
The pouch is different than older models but the saw is the same. However, it is lightweight and relatively compact. Ironically, this is the first one i have ever purchased for myself.
It's perfect for cutting small brush and limbs when constructing a hunt blind. The bone blade is great as well. It cuts cleanly, but not super fast.
Cons
If you run you finger down the side of the blade, along the teeth, it feels far rougher than it should. The blade itself is flimsy and though i only used it for an hour or so, i had to be careful not to snap it.
Gerber has a few gems in their lineup, but none of the items i've ever gotten from them have ever stood up to even the most casual usage. The cheapo coghlans sierra saw is better. Do yourself a favor and buy a different one!
The lock comes loose, the saw frequently binds, and the metal is brittle. The lock mechanism is confusing and inconsistent. This folding saw is made like a plastic toy.
Unless you like to do finish carpentry work in the middle of the woods this saw makes no sense. It is worthless as a camp saw other than maybe cutting small skewers for roasting hotdogs and making smores. This is not what you want to have to clear lim... Read More
