Plastic makes field dressing 10 times easier, quicker and less messy. Works great of fish and smaller game.

Reviewer likes the sheath it creates with. My only gripe is the fixed piece on the knife itself. It's literally razor sharp.

Cons

The blade is too thin to cut a deer pelvis/sternum. The lock back safety is snappy, at the 1/2 way point the blade wants to snap shut. Worked ok on the sternum, but impossible on pelvis or ribs.

It works very well with the havalon #60 blades and is very durable

Disposable blades work well, stay sharp and can be resharpened easily.

The metal around the hole is very thin and mine broke in half which really sucked.

This gives razor sharp blades by simply swapping the blade component.

Price

This is a great bone saw at the right price, and the orange helps when you set it down in the field.

Not that big if a deal, as it's an item that will be in my field dressing bag and not worn on my belt, so there is no concern of losing it.

I received this package late and the postmaster misplaced my package but she found it.

What i received was genuine gerber blades in new packaging.

Bought the gerber vital pack saw and threw it in my hunting pack.

Right out of the box i had to put an edge on it to make it functional.
