The silicone end protects my lips and teeth. The tips are a little challenging for me to get on, but i don't feel overly compelled to use them. The rubber tips protect your lips from the burning metal when you sip hot tea.
The silicone tips are a must have for a tea drinker, like myself! I drink alot of herbal/loose-leaf tea, and enjoy it steaming hot. a flavorful and refreshing tea experience during hot weather.
Cons
Two brushes and only one straw in an unopened package. But, to have big chunks still get through is not acceptable.

Durable and works well and does not affect the flavor of your tea or drink.
Served with a straw almost like these, (shorter and without the plastic piece), i wanted to purchase one from the tearoom.
The silicone tip is also great if you want a super hot cup of mate so the metal wonโt burn your lips.
Price
For the price and all you get, it's a great deal.
Well worth the money, i just bought another 2 sets!
Mesh filter bombillas are available for like $30 if you'd prefer french press style filtration.
