These can be used on their own as a traditional dumb style switch once installed. I have other smart lighting already installed that feels like a tranditional switch.
The app works well, and the programming is simple (see the screenshot). I like the fact that these can integrate with other services. It's important to have the app ready on your smart phone [or tablet]. Works good with tp app.
The programming and alexa features make the switches versatile. Pairing to alexa after using the proprietary app was extremely easy. The switches works with alexa and google assistant.
The switches seem to be of good quality – they have thick gauge connection wires with the stripped end dipped in some alloy to prevent fraying. The switches themselves are well made, feel durable and look quite attractive.
To clarify, the actual brand showing on the box is gosund. They have their own gosund app on android which has a clean, user-friendly interface. The gosund app works flawlessly with ios 15.

Contrarily to a passive switch you cant just connect the live the wire that has current coming from the panel and the load wire the wire bringing current to the light you also need to connect the neutral wire usually the white wire also coming from the panel for the switch to work

Anytime the switch is on you will have a green led on the switch indicating it otherwise the led is off

While the network connection process is quite straight forward the supplied instructions couldve been a little more explicit
