Maybe i am not doing it right but the controls end up on the floor as they are not heavy and you have to make sure the wires are well under the bed to avoid tripping

I am pleased so but a warning from me i will not wash it i have protected cover for it why i say that is last three blankets i had after washing as directed they quit working they were of a different brand name
