I put this along with gibson 496r into a cheap epiphone goth sg.
However, the 500t is brighter than "ol' dirty stinky" which is quite muddy for me, and 500t provides more midrange as well.

If you cant play clean melodies in a clean fashion you cant play

Moreover you want them to sound good so you use a gibson paf in the neck and when you want to melt a face flip the switch to bridge

If you are a true vintagespec aka 50s60s 34paf34 pickup fanatic the 500t might be a little too compressed and direct compared to what youre used to
