Pros

Bios is functional and has decent tweaking options. For the price it's definitely worth it, runs ddr5 ram fast and stable with 13th gen intel ready out the box. Tons of bios settings to play with.

Only issue is the coil whine. Overall if you are lucky enough to not have one with coil whine, it's definitely the best option in this price range. Plus, looks good imo - great backdrop for the rgb lightshow in my corsair 4000d (black) case.

The z-790 motherboard is a great value for the price. It supports all of the recent gpu/cpus and ddr5. Water cooling is a requirement for this motherboard.

Asus tuf rtx 3070 graphics card with 8gb ram. Cheapest most feature built board. I buy these boards for all my customers & they are happy with the performance.

Even the audio codec sounds nice. The wifi 6e and bluetooth are great. It has 6200 xmp mode which is pretty fast. Its low latency/high bandwidth options are excellent, and perform better than the xmp tweaked setting on the asus.

Cons

It also suffers from a super annoying, high pitch, coil whine that wants to make you scratch your ears off and scream.

Quality

Got this in the combo with the 13900k and they both work seamesly.

Highly customizable settings, nice build quality, etc.

I wouldn't have been able to install this without my laptop as they do not include a manual with the motherboard like they used to.

I'd insert my (newish) usb with the renamed gigabyte.

Packaging/appearance

My biggest complaint is focused on packaging.

Very poor packaging, the board arrived twistedluckily it works flawlessly

Competitiveness

Working fine just a bit expensive imho compared to other items but overall good

Wanted to keep 128gb of ddr4 instead of upgrading to ddr5 not really needed atm.

1v to even have a stable 100mhz overclock, which then causes it to throttle because it's drawing ~200w.

Other than that good board for my elgato 4kpro with its pcie4x slot.
