Reviewer says fractal torrent compact is an excellent gaming board. Very sleek design. Great backdrop for the rgb lightshow in my corsair 4000d (black) case.

Bios shipped with f6 and subsequently updated to f8f. Only complaint is that the bios defaults the vcore to over 1. I like the bios upgradability and that it can handle 4 nvme drives.

Cons

Installing updates using their app utility is a mystery “did it work” exercise since it gives no feedback during the install.

Motherboards in 2022 are a bit of a scam. No room for nh-d15 cooler. Bought a msi motherboard instead.

Using onboard simple raid should not be this difficult. Sometimes it just refuses to boot after shutting down. Updated bios (f20b) and no change.

Ordered the z790 aorus elite ax ddr4 (ddr 4 is not a typo)4.

But if you’re going to make a beefy build make sure the quality of all parts of it are just as high end.
