Pros
The receivers work flawlessly with an ar arduino uno. Easy connect to arduino uno, captured tv remote signals with ease.
Only two pins are needed to use the ir emitter. The morse code digital output pin feeds the (+) side of the ir emitter. It is possible to use an arduino timer to generate a 38khz, 50% duty cycle squarewave & interrupt on one digital pin.
Cons
All of the three transmitters are faulty. Even the indicator led on them is not blinking.

I ordered these 38k ir tx/rx from gikfun and when they arrived they didn't work.
However, i contacted the seller about my my broken ones and they sent replacements within days.
The immediately contacted me by email and asked for my mailing address.

The morse code pulses are much wider than normal ir clock pulses

The ir receiver device contains an integrated circuit built internal to it that filters decodes the clock envelope
