I just ordered mine i dont think thy are made for ripping over mountain bike shoes its probably a road product looking at your comments with all the rubber tread and flush mount clips i would not even try it on my mtb shoes but my road shoes stick out so no clip in problems and no rubber tread to get hooked up on i almost did not buy cuz of other reviews almost had me with cold feet out here lol

The rear hole seems fine but the hole for the cleat i used standard shimano is tight around the cleat which causes a few issues with clipping in

Additionally i imagine that over time that part will get torn up because of clipping in and out
