For me this isnt much of an issue after a few wearings as the edges soften up especially if you work them a little bit by hand on any really stiff spots

These are really warm but dont hold moisture like my leather covered ones so these stay warm and not clammy

The leather bottom is adequate and i dont see how they will be an issue as long as i dont wear them on concrete or something
