Pros

Press and hold to dim or brighten. Instructions for the on/off/dimmer control are on the outside of the box! You hold your finger on the same spot, and it dims beautifully.

It's more than a lamp it's lighting 2. It is not quite as bright as the previous halogen lamp we had for years. There are some features of the light that you might not like - other reviewers have covered those points - which are minor to me.

At over 3000 lummis pointed at the ceiling light up a bedroom with lovely indirect light. It is in the corner of our living room and we use it as a low light while watching tv and a brighter light when that is needed.

One quirk is that when power is applied, the lamp automatically tur5ns on after a few seconds. A note on whether these can be used with a timer. When power is restored, they go back to the saved setting.

The third has a slightly textured finish. Was a very good lamp even with the touchy controls, and not working with x10.

Cons

Light varies from very bright to very dim. Not suitable for reading. Emits a high-pitched noise that is very noticeable.

While this lamb is easy to assemble, it is fiendishly difficult to disassemble. The lamp is not user serviceable.

The base piece thread is either too narrow or two small as none of the pieces hold solid on it. If i connect #1, #2 or #3 poles to it the pole holds but spins freely without ever tightening. The threads freeze and you can't unscrew them.
