The pole that screws into the base (#1) has slightly different threading. The third, however, has a slightly textured finish.

The on/off/dimmer control is on the outside of the box! The dimming aspect is a great plus for when a low light is preferred.

Lamp is not user serviceable. Manufacturing is shoddy to the point of affecting the functionality. I know of no way to get this lamp repaired.
