I give it 4 stars because though it is as described and looks great in my space 1) the packing is the problem with the base getting dented.
Packaging/appearance
So i’ve purchased many items on amazon that are “open box” where original packaging may be damaged, but no damage to product.
As others have stated, there is no way you will receive this lamp without the base being dented by poor packaging from the manufacturer.
The packaging looked like it had been through a tornado.

I don’t care if the item is fine

Upon opening the amazon box i see the original box is crushed taped in multiple areas and makes clanking noises

When opened i see that the glass globe is in styrofoam and intact but the heavy metal base and screw together portions of the stand are loose rubbing against each other and the styrofoam in the bottom is crumbled and a million tiny particles fly out when i remove the base

There is nothing covering the base and therefore the new one has 3 dents from the stand portion where i’m putting it you won’t see the base so i’ll keep it 2 the arm has an adjustable knob but with the weight of the lampshade it will not stay in any position except slightly lower than horizontal no matter how tight you turn the knob when adjusted to desired height

Add a washer under the leverscrew so you can tighten it down enough for the lamp to stay upright and its all good

It’s in my four year olds room which is saying something for its durability
