If you plan to use in the uk better off getting a data only sim and using that in one of the spare slots instead of burning through the expensive package data they offer

The only drawback which i guess isnt specific to this model is that the device doesnt allow you to connect to purchase a pass if your balance is zero

You need to topup your pay as you go balance ideally buy a pass before you arrive or wait till you get wifi in the destination country to buy the pass

It is not necessary to use the phone app to register the g3 if you have previously set up an online account

When you turn on the g3 and it has registered itself on the network you have the option of logging on either by phone or by email
