Pros & Cons
Pros
Jaws of the lion uses the same rule set as gloomhaven, but introduces them in a more gradual fashion, over the course of 5 scenarios you learn all of the core rules. A jaw is a jaw, and jaws are jaws.
Once you understands its systems, it is less complicated than many other board games that i play. It also has you weighing tradeoffs like whether to work towards a new class or to have one really high level class. Gloomhaven delivers a captivating rpg... Read More
The story is fun, the character progression is interesting and customizable. The depth is staggering. This is an exceptionally well crafted game.
Gloomhaven brings together the fun of a dungeon crawl adventure and the smoothness of a modern eurogame brilliantly. Game is challenging and entertaining.
Cons
Reviewer says setup is a real drag and the whole experience makes me wonder what else i could spend my time on. It's dull to play. It looks great, but in the end, it's just boring. This is not a game for casual gamers, or even serious gamers who like ... Read More
There appears to be a misprint or a weird cut with one tile page. Most of the time we cannot get them to connect without pushing the tiles down hard and then it ends up bending the cardboard all up.
Poor quality, missing parts, and slow (if it's even happening) turn around on replacements absolutely cripples the experience. Disappointed though it was damaged for the expense of this. Not worth the $100+ asking price.

The game is amazing, and made for serious tabletop gamers.
Unfolded the map and it ripped in half.
The room we store our games in flooded, just shy of a foot of water.
Price
Extremely disappointed for such an expensive item
If you have the money, def buy it though!
Factor that in to the cost of the game as you will want to protect it.
It is definitely pricey but it comes with a lot and apparently you could play it for a very long time.
Shipping
Very fast shipping and an amazing seller.
My only complaint is with the shipment.
Most likely due to mishandling by the shipping company (usps).
Packaging/appearance
Only reason i gave it 4* was because the box came damaged even though i bought a new copy
Game is amazing, only reason its not a 5 out of 5 is because the box was slightly torn when i got it.
I’ll return to give a review of the game later, but for now the initial purchase had a packaging let down: both the front and b... Read More
Second, mad mad props to the folks that did the packaging and the game designers that went with that company.
Competitiveness
It's definitely more comprehensive than jaws of the lion, and we are happy to add it to our rotation of games.
Even though it is similar to d&d there are no dice!
Another advantage to playing jaws of the lion first is that it is a less expensive game, you can see if you like the style befo... Read More

We were a bit disappointed that the box was sunken in when we received it but nothing inside was damaged

The gaming system itself is different and card based no dice there is a certain amount of randomness but not nearly so much as in dicebased games as such in many ways this game has a more puzzle like feel where you need to play the right cards at the right times in order to succeed at a scenario

Its not like any board games we ever played before
