The monitor has an external power port but evidently sony has discontinued production of the clmv55 and its ancillaries

I have not tried this adapter on the camera since a pair of batteries will last through several photo shoots whereas the monitor consumes at least one battery per shoot

I leave my camera on all day in the studio and when im not tethered its not a problem but once i am batteries drain quickly maintaining the connection even when the camera is idle while i make adjustments to the set

I suggest wrapping or just taping this cable up with the usb cable and then plugging in near the computer so you only have a single cord to deal with even if two separate plugs on camera
