It does make a dull humming sound so if youre making videos with your camera while using this adapter id recommend an external mic

Despite turning off the auto shutoff feature the camera can only stay on for an hour at a time

Two pluses right off the bat 1 you dont have to worry about the battery on your camera eventually running out of power after a 5 hour session of subs 2 by removing the battery from the cameras body you are removing a significant source of thermal heat thus thermal noise and the longer the shutter is in use the hotter the battery will get
