Pros

The on/off button is a little stiff, but that is my only complaint. The only complaint my husband has is he forgets to take it with him sometimes.

Golf buddy vs4 is much faster than a range finder. Only drawback is that the golf buddy is consistently 2-4 yards less than all of my friends devices to include garmin and sky caddie. I wish this had layup yardage as well.

Cons

Cute little device and worked well for less than a year. It quit working totally october 117, 2015. I plan to mail it back to golfbuddy requesting a full refund.

The clip that holds it to your pant pocket is not any good. Though once clipped onto watch band very hard to take off. It's difficult to tell if the button is being pushed.

With my experience with the battery life being what it is, not being able to charge and operate it at the same time is a huge let down.

Granted, it has a translucent black splotch in the screen.

Competitiveness

Much faster than using a range finder - and a lot less expensive.

Sometimes it would barely get through a single round.

Original review below:as nothing more than a distance measuring unit, it's adequate for what it cost.

That being said, it's probably better than simply eyeballing the range.
