Pros

Night and daytime recordings are fantastic. Getting recordings is also way easier that from a dvr. I really wish i had done this sooner.

For the price and ease to hook up to your smart phone, tablet, whatnot, it’s amazing. The ai is very accurate 90% of the time which is fantastic compared to my prior poe system. Great integration with other google assistant and automations.

Fyi nest cam gen 1 comes with a 3m micro-usb cable. Sometimes you have to pay for a redundant power adapter that comes with the replacement cable.

The google home app works well. The facial detection is nice. The vehicle alerts work very well, although parked cars at night will alert if it's windy or raining. The notifications come over my phone which i love.

Cons

I have to dismount it about once or month and plug it in inside to get it to charge. Installed to the exact instructions, worked for 5 hours. Now only video event. a thief breaks into your car at 2am.

Customer service also gives standard answers with zero value and is a helpless service! Reluctantly ordered another and will send this one back. Told them to just cancel and do a refund.

Nest cameras don't recognize that they're plugged in. They help me reset them, they work for a while then it reverts. I have to hire an electrician to come remove it ($$$), send it back for them to verify it, they send me a new one.

The app crashes more than it works. The cameras disconnect from the home app all the time. The app is a complete joke.

Highly recommend for someone who looking for quality camera without spending a fortune on a whole system.

I only have to say thr price is set a little high, that is about it.

The only con is that it is a bit expensive.

Competitiveness

They work ok but they do not work with the old nest app anymore you have to use the google app which is inferior to the nest app.

I have both the battery powered and the wall-powered version of the nest cameras.
