Pros

Easy enough to install and setup. Biggest change is how this device lives in the google home app and not the nest app. Free version keeps the past 3 hours of activity, which is good enough for us.

Most existing doorbell wiring is low-voltage ac. You may need to upgrade your transformer. This is a small device that attaches to your bell/chime.

Motion sensor works great, never misses anything. Camera works beautifully, detects motion and recognizes people from a good distance.

Cons

After installation the view is wider but the picture quality is blur even with the max option. This doorbell uses google home and is incompatible with previously configured nest networks. If you use the nest app that’s a waste too.

Every time the camera sees a person it freezes. It tends to be late on notifications, which is nto good if you dont have a bell. Ring and wyze do it but not nest.

The nest cam only captures footage for 3 hours. It goes offline constantly and to reset it is a giant pain because you have to unscrew it to get to the reset button in the back. There is a setting called automatic battery saver, when turned on says if... Read More

My husband started the process, had as hiccup of wrong size drill bits and never finished it.

I had a ring video doorbell that lasted less than 2 years, and the video quality was poor.

Wonderful to have with a great no fee app.

I mean, they charge you close to 200 bucks for it.

I had two of them installed by professionals so they are not inexpensive when you take this cost into account.
