Incredibly easy and solved my problem. Installed this little wonder and problem solved. If your thermostat lacks sufficient power, this is a way to fix it.

Same issue with the nest thermostat in the basement (heat only) with the power connector at the hvac. I am not able to access the actual furnace, i live in an apartment & the furnace is on the roof.

Descriptions of the google nest thermostat indicated it would work ok without a cwire but ours did not

Works ok but you will have less operating hassles if you install another wire instead

However you can probably also fix it for free if you have an unused wire in your thermostat wiring bundle by using that wire to connect the ccom port of your thermostat to the ccom24 v power line on your blowers control board

I initially bought one of the plug in transformers because of the next day delivery and it worked for two months
