Pros & Cons
Pros
It is too early to tell if the battery life is good.
The alarm is very sensitive, in a good way. Previously the fire alarm would get triggered by a rapid change in humidity. The ability to silence false alarms directly from the app is also a convenient feature that adds to the device's overall usability... Read More
The nest detect smoke detectors are expensive, but the design of the app and the detectors are beautiful to look at. The plug in detector (one of two plug in models) is located outside the laundry room.
Cons
Overpriced fire/co detector with 0 costumer support. Replacement stock is old, which robs you from years of usable product life. The warranty is only good for an additional five years.

Price
Excellent value and a very high quality device!
At >$100 each i should get a ~12% discount for old goods.
I purchased 3 wired units from seller ns-corp on sale for $118 each.
Price is high but then its promises are too - simple install, seems to integrate into the house well.
Competitiveness
The alarms cost more than other brands, but the features are worth it.
This smoke and co detector is the pick by the staff at wirecutter (nytimes).
