Okay this thing was like 33 inches with no connections on it and very heavy a lot heavier than 240v similar pump it replaced

Pressure gauge doesnt do anything at all

As far a priming for shallow tanks simply run it for a few seconds and do that every couple minutes until it starts running

I did notice it has twisted a half turn on the pvc screw connection so some maybe this should be looked into by me
