For reasons unknown to me gopro moved one of the microphones on the hero 3 to the top of the camera

The problem with this location is that this housing as well as the waterproof housing of course covers the microphone

The right side microphone is in a much better location when the camera is mounted in its skeleton housing as it is directly where the cutout is
