Pros & Cons

Pros

This thing handles a mirrorless camera with ease and is rock solid with action cams. The entire unit is compact enough to fit in a backpack and it's not heavy. Use with 80d and battery grip.

Cons

For a tripod for $100, this is unacceptable. Its more of a home/party use tripod than an outdoor stuff, as advertised. Main criticism of the joby is its short shelf life.

The tripod legs are so stiff that they are nearly impossible to move. After juggling with the legs for several minutes to bring the center of gravity in place, the camera balances in a delicate position. Also the feet are pretty slippery, so it needs ...  Read More

It seems the joints are made from something that breaks down into gummy particles within a year or two. The quick release component that connects to the camera is not so quick minus the fact that you can leave the base * into the camera.

The gorillapod collapses under the canon's weight. This is not a reliable tri-pod for anything over a few pounds.

Quality

Strong, durable and great for the content creators (video or photog)

The mount is sturdy and firm and doesn't distort under the weight of the camera.

I used a similar size full metal version 10+ years ago and had been happily abused it for years till its rubber rings peeling off.

It doesn't shake, move, or fall no matter what position you have it in.

Price

At the sale price of $50, this is a great deal.

As i said the title it is worth every penny.

I can't believed i paid over 60 dollars for this.

It is a little pricey but worth it.

Shipping

Vendor shipped on time and fast delivery.

It was shipped quickly and is exactly as described!

Packaging/appearance

All i can say is wow after opening the package.

Competitiveness

The only disadvantage is it's a bit difficult to get it back to straight position, but it's really not a big deal.

I will say that the top mount that works best with this for me is the manfrotto (498 head).

I expect to get years of use out of the tripod

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

A little heavy and cumbersome but not nearly bad as most tripods and straps right onto my backpack gear bag

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I was nervous because the reviews were either great or awful

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

A surface always has to be found for it which is a problem at times but its extreme versatility has allowed me to be more creative with certain shots that i wouldnt have considered had i been using a regular tripod
