This is a good size rod for beginners. It sort of reminds me of cork and glue - not quite like particle-board cork, but some kind of composite.
This rod has a beautiful brown coloring to it and cast like a dream. The snake foot guides and are finished in a matte color. Overall, this is a rod that performs at the task it was designed for, and performs it well.

I fish primarily backcountry small creeks in the high sierras where the trout are rarely larger than 1334 and you have to do a ton of rugged hiking
