Pros & Cons

Pros

The instructions say to extend the rod top segments first and retract the rod bottom sections first. The threaded plastic cap on the hilt seems a little cheap, but it hasn’t given me any trouble yet. Only issue is that you need to exercise extra cauti...  Read More

After using this rod intensively for a bit over a week and having caught over 100 fish on it, i am pleased to report that my skepticism was unfounded. I fish farm ponds and lakes for bass and panfish(crappie, bluegill) that's what's nearby. Caught bro...  Read More

I hope that i am surprised by its durability. My only drawback on it is the handle, its very short and has no grip/ texture.

I love that this rod is lightweight and easy to pack. If you're looking for a budget ul fishing setup for backpacking, this is it. I use this primarily for pota and traveling as it is light weight and very easy to carry and transport.

Cons

The pole is marked on the side identifying it as a 7. If you only catch 8 freshwater trout or bluegill then yeah, it's fine. They work well for that, except when the top half of the pole slides down and knocks the cap out of the bottom of the poles.

The lillian doesn't spin. Doesn’t stay up, often collapses even after really tightening. While using this rod for ~20-30 mins my hand started going numb, so the grip design isn't the best.

Quality

I felt confidant with the rod with up to 1lb fish so far, no worries of going heavier but it seems well built.

Light weight and durable for my needs.

The rod is so long you can dip into tight spots where casting is way too difficult.

Hint: never extend the sections any more than the bare minimum that will prevent them from collapsing back into the rod under t...  Read More

Price

In a hobby where everything is really expensive, finding cost effective accessories is fantastic.

I didn't want to spend $300 on specialty rod.

I’m sure you will not be disappointed with the price you can’t beat it very strong.

For the money you can't beat it.

Shipping

Got here fast, good price and it's a cool fishin pole!

Packaging/appearance

This rod came in a plain brown envelope with no protection of any kind.

This packs down into about a 2 foot base section, which is still suitcase-packable and not too unwieldy lashed to a hiking pack.

Competitiveness

The tip is similar to tenkara and has to be handled with care.

I was looking for a cheaper alternative to sotabeams masts, and this fishing rod (7.
