I did know that it was going to be there and it seems pretty common as it was difficult to find a french press with matching cups that did not have that

The first one was damaged it was packed on 3 boxes but somehow the glass on the carafe was broken

I returned it to amazon that day and my second one arrived 4 days later

The larger press just doesnt do well making only a single cup of coffee in my opinion
