For me the press works best using minimum pressure which simulates the speed at which an electric machine would brew the coffee

Pressing too fast will result in a cup of coffee that is weaker than id want

Some electrics have had issues with bacterial growth since certain parts of the machine cannot be immersed for cleaning and the warm environment left in the coffeemaker can leave an ideal environment for bacteria to grow
