Turns out i was supposed to select mode sous vide set temp and time and not hit start until it indicated it had reached the set temp

It would be very helpful if there were a current temperature readout or an estimated time to reach set temp or both on the display

It also has a tiny arrow flash when temp is achieved but only visible close up

Maybe better if there were a larger visual indication like the whole display flashing

Even if you arent using it for sous vide cooking every kitchen needs this appliance

I only use it to cook sous vide but it is so user friendly and if you can operate a cell phone this will be kids play

As others mentioned the timer does not display the countdown but itd easy to set a timer on your phone
