A high quality knife only usually needs sharpening not to be confused with honing
Even without putting any pressure on the knife while passing it through this sharpener leaves fine metal filings all over the knife
What this means is that it is taking off wayyy too much material while sharpening the knife
Admittedly though i did just buy this for my cheap knives however this sharpener is still way too harsh
