Pros

These integrate with home assistant with the hacs repository. Easy to install and setup. Do not listen to bad reviews, this light is worth every penny!

The govee smart bulb is a great value for $13 (december 2021) added the bulb in the app and have not had any trouble since. They respond to any color you choose, even brightness. These get super bright, and can get very dim as well.

If your router has a setting to make a separate instance for this specifically it helps. Works with most voice assistants and the app is good on cell phones also. I hate alexa stuff because it's not as easy to setup as apple but this changed the game.... Read More

Cons

It keeps disconnecting from wifi. Unless your router doesn't have wifi integration you are better off buying the bluetooth version of this bulb. The lightstrip is bluetooth and these bulbs are wifi only.

They all flicker. When i went to remove the bulb, the base of it was so hot i couldnt touch it at all. I’m glad these became defective before i spent money on the govee tv immersion lights and govee glide wall light.

Competitiveness

I prefer govee over phillips hue because it’s cheaper and the quality is just as good.

Also the older ones don’t incorporate into the latest govee home app, ( but they do integrate into alexa but with limited commands).
