Pull the old ones (spring loaded clips just like new ones have) out of drywall ceiling (used a slim blade to get a pry started so i could continue with my fingernails, removed house wiring from old control boxes, pulled entire assemblies out (nothing bolted down inside ceiling), installed new control boxes (~5 mins each), plugged new lights into control boxes, installed supplied clips into each light, re-inserted back in ceiling.  Read Less
