Pros

Sensor works perfectly for what i needed it for. Gap is necessary for the latch to move when operated. Alexa integration is a snap, as well (for products that will work with alexa) love it.

Cons

The only functionality it has in app as of 4/10/2024 is to let you know an open or closed state. Huge delay with notifications, sometimes showing up 1 hour late. Govee needs to make it clear that this product alone will not work as advertised.

Quality

I thought this sensor was going to be a so-so quality purchase but i’m actually surprised how accurate and programmable it is!

This is by far the best control for govee lights.

It does not work with alexa or any other smart home integration, and it doesn't send notifications when the device is triggered.

I have it connected to a smart bulb so that when i open the closet door, it turns on, and it turns off when i close the door.

Competitiveness

And if you want "if/then" commands to happen based off of the sensor, then the other products must be goveelife brand.

Overall bought govee for ifttt compatibility to other devices in future.

I have everything govee except appliances, their lights and accessories are superior products but everything else is ehhh.
