Pros & Cons
Pros
Great northern popcorn is probably the best yet and we keep reordering it. Popcorn pops well in both our air popper and our oil popper. The jug has a huge amount of popcorn in it.
Almost every kernel pops. Adds a nice flavor without being overwhelming.
Great taste. Great for storing. A good quality container, durable, and the corn - is very good.
Much crunchier than orville. Just the right size for any of the gold metal seasonings like glaze pop or the standard flavocal.
Cons
Up against even orville redenbacher this produces (at least for my family) popcorn with a stale quality that's tough and chewy and really sticks to your molar.
Popped entire container over a period of a few weeks. In addition the container was cracked at the bottom.
Highlights
Quality
Flavor is great, every kernel pops (of course some of that depends on you tweaking heat, pan, oil, etc.
Very few un pooed kernels - good taste and perfect texture.
I cook 1/3 cup twice a week and each time there are only a few kernels that don't pop.
It has very few kernels left unpopped.
Price
A good price; will buy this again.
It's a great value and pops the most full kernels for the best value/bang for your buck.
It’s a whole lot less expensive than buying packets of microwave popcorn and it only takes five minutes to make on your own anyway.
I wasn't sure if it was going to be good because it was substantially cheaper on amazon but it was
Shipping
Very fast and accurate transaction; much appreciated!
Packaging/appearance
I was so happy to finally find a huge cachet of popcorn in one container i almost fainted.
Btw - look at the presto fountain popper (listed as "presto 04868 hot air popper, medium, red").
Competitiveness
My honest opinion is that this is as good as any big brand, and way better than the typical grocery store variety.
Pops way better than the orville brand corn and tastes just as good hot as well as the next day.
Other brands tend to leave a lot of broken pieces, but not this one
Taste is good but is more tough that redenbacker which costs more.
